Training professionals for maintenance and preservation of natural environment and living environment

Civil engineering is a discipline that studies and develops people’s living environments with a view to protecting people from natural disasters and provide a conducive living environment without damaging the natural environment. The department researches and teaches civil engineering design, safety & construction for students who want to become civil engineering specialists capable of constructing national infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels and dams, or who want to become facility maintenance and management specialists capable of maintaining and managing existing infrastructure, or for those who want to become civil engineers specialized in managing disasters such as earthquakes and floods.
